Statistieken zijn altijd interessant, en daarom gingen we van 119 politici na hoe vaak hun naam voorkwam in de blog- en twitterberichten die de afgelopen drie maanden door De Blogoloog (de eerste Vlaamse blogzoekmachine) werden geïndexeerd.
Het namenlijstje was gebaseerd op de dertig van het experiment van gisteren, plus iedere politicus die we op de site van de Obarometer konden vinden (zij die een blog, Facebook- of Twitteraccount hebben dus).
Weergegeven in een staafdiagram geeft dat volgende resultaten:

Dat ziet er dus verdacht veel uit als een long-tail-achtige curve: over een kleine groep politici wordt erg vaak geblogd, en over een grote groep wordt minder geschreven (of helemaal niet). De curve loopt ook redelijk gelijkmatig, enkel de nummers één en twee vormen sterke uitschieters. Dit zijn respectievelijk Jean-Marie Dedecker en Kris Peeters.
Wil dit zeggen dat zij de meeste stemmen gaan halen? Geen idee. Deze cijfers zeggen enkel iets over hoe vaak een bepaalde naam genoemd werd, en zelfs niet of dit in een positieve of negatieve context was. Het geeft natuurlijk wel een goede indicatie van wie de geesten beheerst. Bloggers gaan (vermoedelijk) niet voor of tegen iemand bloggen die totaal onbekend is en waarvan zij denken dat de uitslag toch geen rol zal spelen.
Voor de politici in de top tien hebben we ook eens gekeken naar het aantal blogberichten met hun naam er in per dag. Uiteraard kan dit sterk fluctueren, daarom namen we ook het gemiddelde over veertien dagen mee in de grafieken. Dit geeft een idee van wanneer er precies over iemand geblogd werd of wordt, en of de trend stijgt of daalt.
